Thrown at the Wall - from PhotoIreland

Image by Guillermo Gumiel, from the series Tarde de pasión, 2010City Arts is delighted to welcome Thrown at the Wall a series of projections by PhotoIreland which has been curated by Moritz Neumüller with music by Norbert Bibert and Rory Pierce and edited by Clarisse Castelo. Thrown at the Wall is a projection program of more than threen hours, featuring photography and video art from all over the world. The piece is structured in nine sessions and it shows the best in the history of the medium, mixed with the freshest and tastiest artists of the world today, blended into an exoctic cocktail of images.
Thrown at the Wall contains Portfolios by Wolfgang Zurborn, Broomberg&Chanarin, Kudzanai Chiurai, Beatrix Reinhard, Giacomo Brunelli, Felix Nyberg, Guillermo Gumiel, Jean Luc Cramatte, Joan Villaplana and Wolfgang Mueller, among many others; four prestigous schools for photography and image-making; Festivals such as the Brighton Photo Biennial curated by Martin Parr, FotoRio and Kaunas Photo; SeeSaw Magazine and the legendary Lichtblick Gallery, the famous collections of the Forum Internationale Photographie and the to-be-published book project on the History of European Photography, as well as collectives from all over the globe; Videos and Projects by artists such as Liudmila&Nelson, Luz Maria Bedoya, Hund&Horn, Ivor Prickett, Markel Redondo, and Ahmad Hosni, just to name a few.
Moritz Neumüller, born in Linz (Austria) in 1972, works as a freelance curator in Barcelona. He has worked for the Museum of Modern Art in New York (1999-2000), PHotoEspaña, the Spanish Festival of Photography and Visual Arts, in the editions of 2004-2007, and the International Video Festival LOOP Barcelona, in its edition of 2008. Since 2006, he is appointed lecturer to the Department of Art History of the University of Vienna, and in 2011 will direct the European Master of Fine Art Photography in Madrid.
